Vision: The vision of the division stems from the vision of the Department of Psychology to provide the students of the Mental Health Division with the necessary skills to prepare qualified cadres who contribute to community service in the fields of scientific research and raising the level of psychological well-

  The message: Contributing to the dissemination and localization of psychological sciences at the theoretical and applied levels, while emphasizing the importance of the role of the psychologist in developing society’s institutions and meeting its needs by supplying it with specialists in the field of mental health, through encouraging scientific studies in the psychological field, represented by training, codification, and application of psychological tests.

Objectives

1- Developing the scientific content of the courses taught by the department through continuous reviews and updating so that it takes into account the latest developments in the specialty on the one hand and is compatible with Libyan society on the other hand.

2. Providing students with the necessary psychological knowledge necessary for them in their future lives, in accordance with the nature of their specializations.

3. Providing students with some skills related to how to prepare, codify, and apply psychological tests, interpret their scores, and methods for preparing them.

4. Developing students’ skills in using different statistical methods to process and analyze some results and data related to psychological issues.

5. Providing students with the theoretical and organizational aspects of various aspects of learning, psychological counseling, and psychological development.

6- Providing students with some concepts related to special education and how to deal with some groups of people with special needs.

7. Contribution of faculty members in the department to scientific research activities to better contribute to developing their performance.

8. Ensure the achievement of continuous professional and academic development for students in the department.

9. Preparing psychologists to work in various functional fields represented in institutes, universities, clinics, factories, and the public and private sectors.

After completing the program, the graduate can become a psychotherapist in a psychiatric hospital

The Bachelor in prepares students to qualify for Bachelor in . The student studies several subjects which have been carefully chosen in this major to cover its different aspects.
